Greg Fagnan is an accomplished senior leader, entrepreneur, and collaboration builder. While most recognized for thinking big, Greg is equally known for continuously delivering Operating results at scale.
Greg started his career as a technologist and held several technology implementation roles in the Middle East, South America, Southeast Asia, and the United States. After ten years, Greg returned home to Canada and explored his passions for Operations, Strategy, Partnerships, and Consulting.
Having led one of the most dynamic functions of a large Canadian energy operator, Greg pivoted from Operating to Partnering. Frustrated by competing with colleagues in the Alberta energy mix, ultimately penalizing the collective cost structure, Greg founded the Regional Oil Sands Alliance in 2016.
After spending the first half of a career on the owner-operator side of the industry, in 2018, Greg decided to step out and enter the consulting and entrepreneurial space. Today, Greg leads an Alberta-based Industrial Operations applied-AI software company.
After 24 years in the energy sector, Greg is considered a rare individual; skilled in digital technologies, experienced in all facets of the operating domain, and centered on mitigating risk. He has a passion for culture, collaboration, and strategy. Professionally, Greg strives to help Canadian companies make step-change improvements in productivity and sustainability.
Greg has an Instrumentation Engineering Technology diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration (specializing in Global Energy) from the University of Calgary. Greg sits on the Board of the Canadian Energy Executive Association and the Bow River Basketball Association. When he isn’t looking for corporate improvements on the job, Greg spends time with his wife and two children, playing golf, skiing, cooking, and camping.
