Paul DeJong

Paul de Jong is the President of the Progressive Contractors of Canada (PCA), a national association of construction employers that are signatory to progressive unions.

PCA provides advocacy services on behalf of its 130 members, seeking legislation and programs which provide for balanced labour laws, open and fair tendering, and modernized apprenticeship regulations.

PCA also provides labour relations advice and services to its members, and supports competition in the construction industry, and robust investment in the natural resource sector.

Paul has an extensive background ranging over the past two decades in strategic management, government relations and policy development, corporate development, and labour relations.

Active in a variety of industry initiatives and forums, he has previously served on the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) Board of Directors, co-chair of the Construction Owners Association of Alberta (COAA) Respect in the Workplace committee, the CLAC Health & Welfare Board of Trustees, and as a Board member with the Alberta Labour Relations Board.

Paul currently serves on the editorial advisory Board of the Journal of Commerce, as chair of the Management Advisory Committee of the University of Alberta’s Strategic Construction Modeling & Delivery, and on the BuildForce national Board of Directors.
