Shuvaloy Majumdar

For over two decades Shuv Majumdar has dedicated his career to advancing the cause of freedom and security in Canada and across the world. He brings extensive experience in foreign policy, national security, and international business issues, and a 25-year history with the conservative movement.

Shuv’s work to date includes:
• Serving as foreign policy advisor to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Foreign Minister John Baird, assisting the cabinet navigate key issues in international security and the global economy.

• Leading on-the-ground efforts from 2006-10 for democratic reformers across Iraq and Afghanistan, with U.S. Senator John McCain’s International Republican Institute.

• Working alongside Preston Manning as a Reformer in his early years, in building the Canadian conservative movement.

• Advancing complex commercial files in energy, technology, and investment, as Global Director at Harper & Associates.

• Defining the national interest as few can rival, as founding Foreign Policy Director & Munk Senior Fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, where he assembled and led a team of the nation’s foremost thinkers. He is a nationally recognized and widely published voice.

Shuv has been honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal for his work in the fight against human trafficking. He received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for his service in the Middle East and Asia, and for advancing Canadian leadership in a disrupted world.

On July 24, 2023, Shuv was elected to the House of Commons from Calgary Heritage, with the singular honour of now serving the community he grew up in.
